destination for most Indians. Newly wed couples, film crews, business people
and student groups often make up the majority of the tourists visiting this
Southeast Asian nation. In the year 2015, a staggering number of Indian

Hafiz stated that they were making repeated attempts to ease travel to Malaysia
as much as possible, and e-visa was a step towards achieving that. She felt
confident that loosening the visa process would make more Indians look at
Malaysia as a preferred tourist destination.
Indians residing in India can avail an Malaysia
Visa within 24-48 hours, costing approximately Rs.3000 with an extended
validity period of three months. The procedure has been simplified for
hassle-free processing.
Tourism authorities of many popular travel destinations are
targeting Indian travellers now as their inflow has been noticeably increasing
in the recent past. India’s outbound travel industry foresees the number of
Indians travelling overseas, growing rapidly at 15 to 20 % per year to reach 50
million by 2020.
Malaysian Tourism boasts of their calendar packed with
events and activities throughout the year, promising something new to discover
